Seasoned Oyster Crackers

Seasoned Oyster Crackers

Croix Valley BBQ Dry Rubs and Barbecue Boosters make the simplest, tastiest snack crackers you'll want to grab by the handful.   Oyster crackers not only make a great snack, but are fantastic as croutons for soups and salads.  We've sampled our seasonings on oyster crackers for years at events, making this one of our most requested recipes!

1.  1 Bag Oyster Crackers

2. 2/3 cup Canola Oil

3. 2-3 Tbsp (about a capful) of your favorite Croix Valley Rub or Barbecue Booster

Simply add the oil to a zippered storage bag and add the seasoning.  Mix thoroughly until the seasoning is well incorporated into the oil and add in a bag of oyster crackers.  Shake well and let the crackers sit for at least a half hour before serving.

For an extra layer of flavor, spread the crackers evenly into a foil pan or baking sheet and place on the smoker for 15-20 minutes to impart an amazing dimension of smokiness to the snacks.  These crackers won't last long, but if not consumed in one sitting, simply keep them covered in an airtight container to prevent them from turning stale.

These Croix Valley Crackers are fantastic for snacking! I like to toss them in a salad or sprinkle them atop chili & soups. And they also make the BEST breading for fish, chicken and chops. Just take a rolling pin to a handful of seasoned crackers and you’ve got the tastiest coating or a special addition to your meatloaf or meatballs.
