Birria-Style Smashburger Tacos

The internet has seen its share of smash burger trends, but this Birria-Style Smashburger Tacos recipe deserves a permanent spot in your collection. It combines everything we love about crispy smash burgers with the rich, savory flavors of classic birria. A flour tortilla is smashed directly onto seasoned beef on the griddle, creating an incredibly crisp exterior while locking in all those flavorful juices.

What sets this version apart is the Birria Basting Sauce. Made with beef consommé, beef tallow, ancho chile, and Croix Valley Southwest Barbecue Booster, it creates an irresistible crust while adding just the right amount of smoky, beefy flavor. Finished with fresh onion, jalapeños, queso fresco, and a cool Southwest Dipping Sauce, every bite delivers the perfect balance of crispy, juicy, creamy, and spicy.

Whether you're cooking on a Blackstone, flat-top griddle, or cast iron skillet, these Birria-Style Smashburger Tacos are easy enough for a weeknight dinner but impressive enough to steal the show at your next cookout. Once you make them, don't be surprised if they become one of your most requested recipes.
