James Barry was born and raised on the East Coast of Canada on a small island named Newfoundland. He migrated to Alberta in 2008 to seek employment in a small city named Fort McMurray which has some of the world's largest oil reserves. There he worked as a mining equipment operator, then later became a red seal mobile crane operator.
BBQ and cooking take up the majority of his spare time and is his biggest hobby. He has a small home business that keeps him busy selling rubs, sauces, charcoal, pellets, and other BBQ-related products.
He started taking an interest in bbq and smoking food in 2017 which quickly transformed into a passion. At that point he started to collect his arsenal of grills. As time went on and his back yard bbq started to evolve, he started a social media page on Instagram called "Barry's Backyard BBQ" to showcase his food.l and engage with like minded people. From cooking the typical brisket, chicken and ribs, you can also see him baking things like pies and banana bread on the grill also.
Charcoal bbq and live fire cooking would be his top choice but says that pellet grills have their time & place as well as convenience.
Pineapple Habanero BBQ and Wing Sauce, Sweet N Smokey Barbecue Sauce, Garlic Ginger Teriyaki sauce, and Mango Habanero Wing and BBQ Booster would be his top favorite Croix Valley products.
